Our Journey of Authentic Chinese Flavors

Mimi Garden began with a simple observation — and a bold idea.

While spending time in Los Angeles, our founder frequently visited a well-known Chinese restaurant celebrated for its freshly made, steamed dumplings. What stood out was not just the craftsmanship behind each delicate Xiao Long Bao, but the diverse crowd enjoying them. Handmade soup dumplings were no longer a niche comfort food — they were loved by families, young professionals, and food enthusiasts across cultures. The steam rising from bamboo baskets, the careful pleating of each dumpling, and the burst of rich broth with every bite created an experience that felt both traditional and universally welcoming.


That experience sparked a question:

Why not bring this authentic, freshly made Chinese dining experience into American neighborhoods — not just in major metropolitan centers, but into everyday community life?

Founded in August 2024, Mimi Garden was created to make traditional Chinese cuisine more accessible and approachable within local communities. After successfully validating the concept in Los Angeles, we opened our first Houston location in The Woodlands in December 2024. In a short time, Mimi Garden became a favorite Chinese restaurant in The Woodlands, known for its handmade soup dumplings, fresh boiled dumplings, and warm, inviting atmosphere.


Now, with the opening of our Spring location, we continue building a community-centered brand designed to serve Houston neighborhoods with consistency and care. By combining fresh preparation, traditional techniques, and a welcoming dining environment, Mimi Garden brings authentic Chinese flavors — from handcrafted dim sum to comforting dumplings — directly to the community table.
